ABOUT AP-BIZ

The overall purpose of AP-BIZ is to discuss attachment parenting (loosely defined, not defined at all really) and natural/frugal parenting, shopping, and living; all in the context of working at home, working part-time, pursuing alternative employment, and starting home businesses.

We talk about what we buy, why we buy it, who we buy it from, etc. These lists are about our friendships with like-minded people here in this community, and about getting to know the new and different people who will undoubtedly join the community.

Members must understand that the community exists to support, educate, and promote attachment parenting and the attachment parent. Members must abide by the policies of this charter and exercise appropriate conduct toward the membership. Members are customers, manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, and those in the process of starting up a home business, or working to balance part-time employment with more home time for the family.

THE LIST
For business discussion only. Posts and replies must be pertinent to the whole group, or they are to be sent privately. All off-topic stuff needs to be posted elsewhere.

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND:

  • If you hit "reply," it will go to the individual poster, not the list. To send to the list, either paste in the list address, or hit "reply to all," and it should fill in the list address for you... and it would be nice for you to take out the poster's address which will also show up.
  • Everyone is set to receive mail. There is no "nomail" option. There is no digest version.
  • If you post from an address other than the one subscribed, you should get a bounce message back to you. Let me know, and then I'll need to add that name to the addresses that can post, but *not* add it to the distribution list, so you don't get duplicate posts.
  • There are no archives on the apbiz.com server.

We prohibit spam, virus hoaxes, chain letters, images and graphics, posts from another list without permission of the owner, any attachments, etc.

We discourage posts to multiple addresses: such posts will usually bounce back to the administrator, and ALL bounced posts are discarded. Posts which violate our community guidelines will be refused, and the administrators reserve the right to refuse any message, or unsubscribe any member at any time.

REPLIES, OFF-TOPIC POSTS, SNIPPING RESPONSES, "ME TOO" POSTS

  • Please keep on topic, and change subject lines as needed when the topic is changed.
  • Unless your response is pertinent to the whole group, please send your replies privately to the original authors. This will happen automatically when you reply to a message.
  • When you respond to a message publically, please snip the message down to the relevant sentences you are responding to, or a sentence that catches the flavor of the post. Everyone will recieve all posts, so there is no need to duplicate lines of text..
  • Don't send "me too" posts to the list... these come in various forms: me too, oh no, ha ha, LOL, atta girl, etc.

COURTESY

We are a diverse community, even within the somewhat small AP subculture, and tolerance is a wonderful habit and a very smart business attitude. The listowners strongly encourage you to make "I" statements in the discussion of personal values, and listen and ask for information if you don't understand something.

No flames, no abuse, no spam. The listowner reserves the right to unsubscribe anyone who receives a warning and persists in inappropriate behavior. Please do not cite or quote someone off-list without their express permission.

Finally, we hope everyone will be able to resolve disagreements calmly and continue move forward. If you continue to post about a subject that has been resolved, in an effort to cause controversy, you will be asked to stop. If you do not, you will be unsubbed. Overall, we are "hard on ideas, soft on people."
